BROKEN BONES!

On Tuesday Sept 23, our poor little Addie had an accident!  Addie & Ellie had just got home from gymnastics, and decided to go out and jump on the tramp, while I was dishing up their dinner, before I had to leave for a PTA meeting at their school.   I was in a hurry, so I finished up with getting things settled, before I rushed out the door.  As I was pulling out of the driveway, Jeff came running out of the house yelling
"JaNeen stop! Addie has hurt her arm bad!"
Panicking, I ran in the house, and Addie was holding her arm crying.  When I saw her arm, I thought I was going to throw up!   Her arm was so deformed, and looked so wrong.  Jeff was telling her that it was "just dislocated", and she would be alright.  In less than 2 minutes, I had scooped Addie in my arms, and Jeff and I were out the door heading to the hospital.  We were so lucky (Blessed) that Jenny had just stopped by our house, so that she could use our computer.   She was able to stay with Paisley, and Ellie.
When we got to the Emergency Room at A.F. they got us right in!  Addie was such a champ!  She was so sweet, and worried that they were going to have to cut her arm off!  We reassured her, that she needed her arm, and that everything was going to be just fine.  Little did she know that Jeff, and I were freaking out inside.
Addie never really cried, until the nurse told her she had to give her an I.V. or shot.  Once she was high on morphine, they took E-rays.
When the nurse came back after seeing the X-rays, we could read concern on her face, and she told us that the Orthopedic Dr. was on his way.    When Jeff and I herd Orthopedic we said "Holy Crap! she broke her arm."
I lost my composure, and cried.  The stress of the situation could no longer be handled.  Thank goodness Addie was sleeping.   We looked at the x-rays, and saw that little Addie had broken her bone in half, right above her right elbow, and also dislocated it.  The Dr. told us that we needed to go to Primary Children's Hospital, because most likely she would need surgery.
Once we got up to Primary Children's, everything moved supper fast.  Addie was in surgery, within 2 hours.  She got 3 pins in her elbow, and she is now on the road to recovery.  She has to have her arm wrapped in a brace for 1 week to wait for the swelling to go down, and then she will get her permanent cast on for 3 to 4 more weeks, then she will have the pins removed.
I can't believe how vulnerable we are as parents.  I love my kids so much, and I just felt so sick about Addie being in so much pain.  I'm so grateful for modern medicine, and the ability (Morphine) to take Addie's pain away.  Its going to be a long road to recovery, with this little active girl.  She is so full of energy, and never sits still.  I'm getting very creative, with things for her to do!  She is going nuts not being able to be her normal frisky self.  I just love this girl!

Addie getting her E-rays.  This picture gives her brake no justice, it looked much worse in person!

We just got her home, and tucked her in.  She was so excited about the stuffed animals the hospital gave her!

She thinks her arm brace is so cute!  Lets see how she feel about it in a couple of days.

The socks at the hospital were so big, that the nurse taped around her ankles to hold them up!  Addie thought this was pretty clever!

Everything was so cute at Primary Children's!  They let Addie order what she wanted, from their "Room Service Menu"

Ellie was feeling a little left out.  She had me wrap her arm, and put it in a arm brace!  Paisley is loving all of the pillows, and blankets, that are everywhere in the living room.

SCHOOL HERE WE COME!

It's better late than never!
So Ellie, and Addie had their first day of school.  They were so excited to have a change.  I can't believe that Addie is in kindergarten, and Ellie is a 3rd grader.  They are getting so big!
We have a family tradition for Jeff to take each of the girls, and give them a fathers blessing, to help them for the upcoming school year.   Addison was so tender, she teared up because she could feel the spirit, and love from her daddy.  I'm so grateful that the girls go to such a good school, that teaches gospel principals through the spirit!
I'm feeling a little bitter sweet with the girls out of the house.  I love that I have a chance to spend time with Paisley, and I'm able to go to the gym at 8:30, instead of 6:00.  My husband always says happy wife happy life!  I'm a lot happier sleeping in.  I miss hanging out with them by the pool.  We had a great summer!

I was ready to make a hot breakfast for the girls, but they begged for the left over rice crispies,  from rice crispy treats we had made!

Who said uniforms don't show individuality!

3rd grade here I come!

My Girls!

So ready to grow up!

ALASKA WITH THE BOYS!

Jeff was invited to go to Alaska for a guys trip on his friends, family boat!  The guys went for 6 days and 5 nights.  I will admit it felt forever, that he was away.  It was a trip of a life time!  I'm so glad that I had just returned from Vegas on a girls shopping trip, at the ASD jewelry buying show.  Funny thing is Jeff didn't know about the trip, until I was home from my little getaway. He was so great about wanting me to have fun in Vegas.  It payed off!  Bon Voyage my love!  I was rested, and ready to wrestle with the kids.  Plus I was able to let everything go, so I could read all of the twilight books the week he was gone.  (Lucky him)
He had such a fun time!  The trip was incredible.  Great friends, personal chef, beautiful views, what more could you ask for.  He needed the break, for some relax time!  Thanks for taking him Madison!

The Boat!

When they got on the boat, there was a itinerary waiting for them, of the places, and events that would be taking place.

The boys saw lots of bears.  Madison, and Shawn decided to be smart, and stay on the boat, instead of venturing out on a hike with Jeff, and Ryan.

Jeff brought back tons of beautiful pics.  It was amazing!

GARDNER FAMILY REUNION

We surprised all of the little girls with new matching dresses.  We made 14 dress's in all.  Each family had a different color!

Becky, Jenny, and Sara, all came over to my house, to help sew!

Grandpa had 10 horses for us to ride!

Everyday we had a different devotional.  This was the story of Ammon, at the waters of Mormon!  Grandpa made a great King.

The kids loved the games!

I don't know if I have ever blogged about my Mother in-law Nancy.  Lets just say she is awesome! She is one of those wonder woman, who can do everything.
So my In-Laws decided that it is time to start a family reunion for just the Dan, and Nancy family. (We are getting so big)  We were lucky to have the Drainey family, and Grandma Porter join us this year also.  So Nancy planned for the family to all go to Bondurant, Wyoming.  We were all a little negative about the 5 hour drive.  We were wondering why in the world we were going so far, when there are tons of places closer to home for camping.  Well when we got there we understood why she was so excited!  It is an amazing place, with so much to do.  We were all taken by how beautiful it was!
Nancy had given out assignments for each family of activities, and devotionals that we were to be in charge of.  She had everything so organized it was sick.  We all had so much fun!  Some of the things that we did was:  Horseback riding, river rafting, swimming in the hot springs, four wheeling, fishing, races, games, bug hunts, and volleyball.  The kids all made: Pillows, bow and arrows, and marshmallow guns,  The girls made necklaces, and aprons.  The boys did a wood burning project!  The reunion was a hit.  Good job to the In-laws!

PAISLEYS NEW PICTURES!

I took Paisley to Peek a Boo Photos, to get her 1 Year pictures taken.  I hate getting pictures about as much as going to the dentist.  I think it's the stress of getting the kids there happy, clean, and with hair looking like I made an effort.  For me having 3 girls, this is not an easy task.  Well with Paisley, I got 2 out of three, she was such a little fart!  Thank goodness they were so good about taking their time, and they are so good at what they do.  So at least we got a few good ones!

MORE PICTURES!

This was what we were working with, what a little stinker!

Once we took her outside, she decided to show a little personality!
